Winter: Grief (Temporis IV)
I’m sorry, O Earth
I’m sorry for what has been stolen from you
The precious things of your heart have been bared.
Exposed
Made vulnerable.
The enemy has taken the precious things of your heart
And trampled them mercilessly.
You are afraid, O Earth,
And why not?
You are alone in the cold, cold, cold night.
You are blind and cannot see.
You are afraid.
You are like a widow grieving for that which cannot be returned.
In black you are like a phantom in the snow.
I’m sorry, O Earth
I’m sorry for what has been stolen from you.
Sleep.
Lay down in the snow
And rest.
Wake when you hear my voice once more.
I’m sorry, O Earth.
I’m sorry for what has been stolen from you.
