In the Silence: A Poem
stillness
quiet breathing
inhale
exhale
.
closed eyes
heartbeat, slow and steady
scalding mug at hand
honeyed tea
warmth
.
fluffy beanbag
comfy pjs
.
r e l a x e d
.
all is silent
except my pen
scritching on my
page
writing poetry
in
the
silence
.
by myself
inhale
exhale
.
no screens
no distractions
.
dim room
twinkle lights
succulents to keep me company
.
solitary clock ticking nearby
.
I stop writing to listen
.
.
.
the seconds click away
like water
.
but all is still
.
time does not
exist
.
.
fear fizzles away
.
peace creeps in
on silent
socked
feet
and makes a nest
in my soul
.
.

About The Author
Abby
