A Brief Celebration on the Arrival of October

Y’all. I don’t know if you realize this – perhaps you haven’t looked at your calendar in eons, perhaps you’re slightly frazzle-brained by Friday like myself, or maybe you’re just oblivious to the changing of seasons – but today is the first day of October. 🍂 🍂 🍂

Thusly I thought a celebratory post was appropriate. (Plus the fact that, due to busy schedules, I haven’t posted in nearly a month. Sorry, y’all.)

October is my favorite month. I love the changing leaves, going from green to yellow to blazing orange. I love the chill in the air, I love seeing pumpkins on porches, and I love how I can finally get out my chunky knit sweater that I wear only one month of the year. Plus, the holidays are just around the corner (how did that happen?) but they aren’t quite upon us yet… it’s a good feeling.

I’ve been looking forward to October since… let me see… last October.

I don’t necessarily have any special plans for this month, besides keeping up with school and enjoying the beautiful weather. And perhaps re-reading Les Miserables. Can you believe it’s been a year since I read it!?! And of course after re-reading it I’ll have to watch the movie again. (Haha.)

And this month I’m really feeling God’s call to press in close to him. I need that right now… just that nearness to him. He’s so good.

I think that’s all I have to say today. How are you planning to enjoy October 2022? What are your favorite months and why? Let me know in the comments.

Also, for those of you who read my Sunday Letters, you know that recently I got to meet the Arcadian Wild (one of my favorite bands. Highly recommend!!) I hope to type up a post about that soon, so you can keep your eyes out!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll talk to you later….

(And, because the southerner deep inside me is begging to be loosed–)

HAPPY FALL, Y’ALL!
