Announcing the Haiku Contest WINNERS!
.
.
I am so excited to announce the winners. I truly loved reading all of your haiku, and it was so hard to narrow down my top favorites! Thank you all for taking a risk and submitting. I had a grand total of 26 entries, which was more than I had hoped for!
I judged the contest blind. I know several of the people who entered pretty well, and I didn’t want that to bias me at all.
That being said, let’s reveal the winners.
(Drumroll, please….)

First place:
Romana Stewart
You can find Romana over at her blog, Random Threads. Do her a favor and check out her site!
Romana’s haiku really struck something inside me. I loved the imagery, the rhythm, the way so much was said in so few words. It leaves me with a wintery, grey, but nonetheless hopeful feeling. Congratulations, Romana! 🙌🏼
Without further ado, here is our first-place haiku:
.
.
Snowflakes drifting down
Powdering grass with sugar;
Warmth within the chill.
