Raindrops: A Poem
In the early morning hours,
On the porch I sit.
I sip my coffee and think about lovely things.
And I listen to the birds singing.
And the rain that falls from the grey skies
Is so beautiful,
And peaceful.
And I sigh with wonder.
In the early morning hours,
On the porch I sit.
And as I sit, I know my Lord is with me.
For I can feel his presence in the raindrops
That fall from heaven.
And in the grey skies,
And the clouds,
And the wet leaves in the morning,
And in the music that I hear
In the falling rain.
“How lovely is the rain,” I say,
“And how lovely are you, Lord.”
And he answers me,
Saying,
“So are you, my love.”
And I smile because I love his love for me.
It is beautiful,
And peaceful.
And I sigh with wonder,
In the early morning hours,
As I listen to the rain
That falls from heaven.
And I look at the grey skies,
And the clouds,
And the wet leaves in the morning.
