Jo March drawing – time lapse
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. “Two art posts in a row??”
What can I say? I’ve been on an art kick. π
I thought it’d be interesting to take photos during the process of making a watercolor art, to see how it looks during the process. If you’re an artist, maybe this’ll inspire you to try something similar.

Image 1) I started out by lightly tracing over a photo of Jo March (played by Saoirse Ronan in Little Women 2019).
Image 2) I then added a bit more shading to certain parts – her mouth, hair, neck, and collar. Then I lightly colored a few parts with colored pencils.
Image 3) Then I got out my watercolors. Starting with the light colors of her hair and skin, I went over it all with a brush and plenty of water. I was satisfied with how it turned out – here’s the finished product.
