Hushed Night | an advent poem
Hushed night.
starlight.
such a long day-
Mary,
weary
lay on the hay.
One moment,
silence;
the next, a cry.
It hurt her so much
she thought she would die.
Hushed night,
starlight,
broken by sobs
Mary;
weary,
mother’s heart throbs.
One moment,
darkness.
The next a great light.
Baby Messiah
born in the night.
Hushed night.
Starlight.
Broken by joy.
Mary,
cherishing
her baby boy.
Tomorrow, Savior,
today just a child.
She held her son close.
Jesus.
She smiled.
Thank you Caelie Jones for the beautiful snow photo.
Merry Christmas to you all. He has come.
