LadyBluebird Haiku Contest! (50 subscriber celebration)

Hello! Well y’all, I’ve reached my first 50 subscribers, and we all know that means it’s time for me to spill the beans on how we’re going to celebrate.

(If you read my newsletter from last night, you know that this was supposed to take a lot longer to set up. Well, it’s ready! Here we go!!)

I’m hosting a Haiku-writing contest!

Whether you think you’re a writer or not, haiku are simple and easy to write, and can convey a lot of imagery and emotion in just a few words. Take a risk and submit yours today.

Guidelines

The theme for this contest is GRATITUDE.

Feel free to interpret this creatively, but you must include the theme in your haiku. You could write about something you’re grateful for, what gratitude means to you, this season in general, etc. Be creative.

Rules (must be followed for a valid entry):

  • Limit 1 entry per person (haiku are short, so choose your words wisely!)
  • Must follow the 5-7-5 syllable pattern (if you’re unfamiliar with haiku, do some research)
  • Must pertain to the theme of GRATITUDE
  • Must use your real name and email when submitting
  • Plagiarism is instantly disqualified.

Prizes:

First place: Publication on LadyBluebird, personalized feedback on your haiku, & bragging rights. If you have a blog, I’ll link to it as well. (Assuming I find it appropriate for my readers.)

Second place: publication on LadyBluebird & bragging rights.

Honorable mentions (up to 2): an honorable mention on LadyBluebird & bragging rights.

**The deadline for submission is Sunday, November 20th, 11:59 PM ET.**

A winner will be chosen and emailed by December 4th, and then they will be announced on LadyBluebird.

Be brave! Submit a haiku.

You have nothing to lose, and I am so excited to read your writing. Even if you don’t think you’re a writer.

Steps to submit:

Click the button below to find the google form. Make sure you’ve read the guidelines (same as above), fill out your information, and then submit!
