Big news!! (a post after a very long silence)

Hey peeps! Gosh, I’m sorry. It has been over three months since I’ve posted. I hope you still remember who I am, and why you’re reading this, and if you don’t, let me reintroduce myself…

…Hi! I’m Abby. I used to blog frequently but then got freakishly busy and forgot I had a blog in the first place.

There. Now that we’re reintroduced, let me spill the beans.

The big news I’ve been sitting on for three months

Dun dun dun….

I’m going to be a published author!

Okay, okay, let me give you the whole scoop. So. Back in September I applied for this project called Lawless – an anthology of short stories based on the biblical book of Judges, and set in a sci-fi western post-apocalyptic kind of world. I was intrigued. But the best part? It’s written by Christian authors with a kingdom point of view.

I had nothing to lose, so I applied. And (can you guess what comes next?) I was accepted. I was thrilled! But I also had no idea just how much time this would take up over the next month.

My entire month of October was basically spent sitting on the couch in our living room with headphones and my laptop and a candle burning – in other words, writing, rewriting, and editing my short story.

And now I’m happy to announce that my loving, exhaustive hours of work which I poured into this short story have paid off. The book comes out next month. Right now, it’s out for preorder!

More beans are spilt

One of the most exciting parts about this whole experience, in my opinion, is the fact that I’m going to be a published author before I even graduate high school.

Okay, okay. Maybe you’re surprised… If you’ve been observant, you’ve probably noticed that I’ve never shared my age or grade or anything like that on my blog. That’s just been for privacy reasons. But since I included in my author bio for Lawless that I’m a high school student, I figured I could share it with you guys too. I’m graduating in May. I’m a senior. Tada! The secret’s out.

Anyways, that’s exciting. I’ll be published before I graduate. Never thought I’d be able to say that.

And I ask a small favor

So, what now? Well, my current mission is to spread the word, and to get as many people as possible interested in Lawless and wanting to buy it. ALSO I’m supposed to find some people who are willing to read it and leave an honest review on Amazon when it comes out.

I’m personally contacting some people to ask for this favor, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to share here as well.

If you want to support Lawless, and thereby support my first-ever-story-in-print, would you consider buying the book and leaving a review on Amazon?

Alrighty. Well. That’s the end of my post for today.

Until next time —

Abby
